About us

The Forum is an independent music and arts venue which has been part of Tunbridge Wells' thriving music scene since 1993. Since then, we have hosted performances from thousands of emerging artists. With a capacity of 250 people, The Forum is a stalwart of the national touring circuit and has presented acts such as Green Day, Coldplay, Oasis, Muse and Rag 'n' Bone Man on their way to international success. In 2012, it was awarded Best Small Venue by the NME. In 2015, The Forum converted to a Community Interest Company, otherwise known as a Social Enterprise, with its chief aim being for the community's interest.

We provide local musicians a rehearsal space, a means to record and gigs to perform; often providing musicians from the South East of England with their first professional gig. In 2016, on 159 occasions, free use was given to local bands, music workshops, educational sessions and charities. We also train and develop skills in young people who wish to pursue a career in the music industry; training sound engineers, promoters and band managers.

The venue opens its doors to thousands of music fans of all ages each year. Importantly, it allows unaccompanied entry from the age of 16. For many of our customers, it has provided their first independent experience of a live art event.

With our 25th anniversary approaching, we are committed to keeping this community space available for bands, artists, audiences and music lovers of all ages and background. We are looking ahead to the next 25 years and realise the need to invest our energies, time and funds into the younger generations who can continue the venue's legacy. We would like to be part of the TW Lotto to raise funds to support a training programme for young, committed individuals who want to learn about all aspects of working in the music industry. At the same time, we want to create an artistic programme aimed purely at new, young local talent where artists can have a creative space to rehearse, experiment and hone their skills under the guidance of our experienced team.

By nominating us as your good cause when buying your TW Lotto ticket, you will be investing in young, committed talent both professionally and artistically.

Thank you for your support and good luck!

All the best,

The Forum Team
